EXIF Data

The metadata your camera embeds in every photo and video file. Make, model, lens, GPS, ISO, timestamp — the technical fingerprint of every shot you take.

What EXIF contains

Camera information: Make (Canon, Sony, DJI), model (EOS R5, FX3), lens, serial number. Capture settings: ISO, aperture, shutter speed, focal length, white balance. GPS data: Latitude, longitude, altitude. Timestamp: Date and time of capture.

What gets stripped

EXIF data is fragile. Social media uploads, messaging apps, format conversion, and screen capture can all strip EXIF data. DAAAM warns you when GPS is missing from clips that should have it.

Why EXIF matters for DAAAM

DAAAM uses make and model to classify device type: cinema camera, drone, phone, action cam, and more. GPS coordinates enable the Places view. All of this is indexed and searchable.
